Although many buyers have turned to the SUV instead of a more traditional station wagon, there are a few wagons left on the market -- and they're all great family haulers. They're also great values, as proven by our list of this month's wagon deals.
BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo
The all-new, 5-door BMW 3 Series GT combines typical 3 Series capabilities and driving enjoyment with wagon practicality. In January, BMW offers the 3 Series GT with two incentives: one for shoppers looking to lease and the other for drivers who would rather finance. For qualified drivers looking to finance, BMW is touting rates from 3.19 percent for up to 36 months. Leasing is a better deal, as BMW is offering the all-wheel drive 328i xDrive GT for $439 per month -- a rate that undercuts the brand's more traditional 328i xDrive Sports Wagon by $10 per month. Both deals include 36-month terms and require drivers to put down around $3,900 at lease signing.
Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon
The Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon is a rear- or all-wheel-drive midsize wagon based on Cadillac's popular and luxurious CTS sedan. With a redesigned CTS on the way, Cadillac is doing its best to clear out inventory of the outgoing model -- and that means great deals are available in January on today's CTS and even on the 2014 CTS Sport Wagon. Cadillac is touting interest rates from 1.9 percent on all CTS Sport Wagon models for up to 36 months -- a deal that even extends to the exciting 556-horsepower CTS-V Sport Wagon.
The Subaru Outback is today's most popular wagon thanks to reasonable pricing, practical sizing and legendary durability. In January, it's even more appealing thanks to several incentives from Subaru. The best is a low-interest deal that touts rates from 0 percent for 36 months on all 2013 or 2014 Outback models. For drivers who would rather lease, Subaru has another good deal available: $255 per month for 36 months on a 2014 Outback after $1,955 down at lease signing.
Toyota Prius v
The Toyota Prius v is the largest and most practical member of the growing Prius family. In January, it's also one of the best deals in the entire Toyota lineup thanks to a host of incentives from the automaker. Qualified drivers interested in financing a Prius v, for instance, can get 0 percent for 36 months. For shoppers who would rather lease, Toyota is offering rates from $279 per month for 36 months after $2,678 down at lease signing.
The Volvo XC70 is a luxurious wagon that boasts off-roader styling and available all-wheel drive. In January, the 2014 XC70 available with two incentives: one for shoppers looking to lease and another for those paying in full. For drivers who want to lease, Volvo is offering a 39-month term with payments from $399 after $3,999 down at lease signing. For those paying in full, Volvo is offering up to $1,500 in options allowances -- a deal that gives shoppers money-off options rather than cash back.
What it means to you: Several great wagon deals are available on a few of our favorite models this month.
