What's the real cost savings with the Hybrid?

AutoTrader: The Camry Hybrid has an EPA rating of 41 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving. That means most drivers will spend about $1,200 per year on gas. A Camry with the non-hybrid 4-cylinder engine, like our red LE test car, gets 28 mpg in combined driving. That equates to about $1,800 per year for gas.
Do a little math and you can see the yearly savings for the Hybrid is roughly $600 per year, depending on your driving habits. But keep in mind that a Camry Hybrid costs about $3,000 more than a similarly equipped non-hybrid Camry, so it's going to take more than six years to offset the Hybrid's higher price with the money you save at the pump.
