Three new Lexus models are gaining special edition variants for 2012. The LS 460 luxury sedan, midsize ES 350 and hybrid CT 200h hatchback are each adding a special edition model for 2012 to help them stay fresh and reach new buyers.

For the upscale LS460 sedan, that means a performance-oriented new model called the Sport Special Edition. Available only with the rear-wheel drive LS460, the Sport Special Edition adds several sporty features like high-performance Brembo brakes, sport-tuned air suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a racy bodykit with a unique grille. Also included with the Sport Special Edition's $77,000 base price are several upgraded luxury features including a two-tone black and topaz beige interior, heated rear seats, power door closers and a unique Obsidian exterior finish.

Meanwhile, the midsize ES350 adds a new luxury-oriented Touring Edition model for 2012. Available in two colors - Stargazer Black and Starfire Pearl - the $40,475 Touring Edition will be distinguished from standard ES models thanks to its 17-inch wheels with a Liquid Graphite finish, wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, heated and ventilated front seats, brown walnut wood trim, and standard Lexus navigation system.

Rounding out Lexus's new special edition models is the $37,995 CT200h F Sport. Featuring 17-inch alloy wheels with a Liquid Silver finish, high-performance F Sport suspension and a TUMI tote bag and backpack with F Sport emblems, the hybrid CT200h is the latest Lexus model to get the automaker's performance-oriented "F Sport" treatment. Other new features include unique mesh front grille, larger rear spoiler, F Sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals and F Sport exterior badging.

"The Special Edition models will offer our customers choices to fit their luxury and sporty needs," said Mark Templin, Lexus group vice president. "With limited units available nationwide, they'll sell out fast to customers who want an all-inclusive sport and luxury package."

Lexus says production will be limited to just 250 units of the LS460 Sport Special Edition, 2,000 units of the ES350 Touring Edition and 900 units of the CT200h F Sport Special Edition. All three models are expected to arrive in dealerships by November.
