If you purchase a used car from a Nissan or Infiniti dealership, don't forget to ask about your free SiriusXM subscription. Nissan recently announced that it's now offering free trial satellite radio subscriptions on all pre-owned vehicles sold at its dealerships and equipped with the feature - even if Nissan or Infiniti does not manufacture them.
According to Nissan, customers buying a pre-owned vehicle at participating Nissan and Infiniti dealerships will receive a complimentary three-month subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio's 130 commercial-free music, sports, news, talk and comedy channels. The only catch is the used car purchased must include satellite radio from the factory, as dealers won't add the feature to their used inventory.
"We are thrilled Nissan and Infiniti dealers are joining the growing list of participating dealerships across the country giving their pre-owned vehicle customers a 3-month introductory subscription to SiriusXM," said Joe Verbrugge, senior vice president and general manager of SiriusXM's automotive remarketing division. "Customers buying any pre-owned satellite radio-equipped vehicle from Nissan and Infiniti dealerships can be assured they are receiving the best in-vehicle experience on the road."
In addition to offering three-month satellite radio subscriptions with used cars, Infiniti dealers also have another trick up their sleeve designed to entice buyers into purchasing a pre-owned vehicle from them.
In July, the luxury brand announced the launch of Infiniti Personal Assistant, a 24-hour concierge service that gives its customers access to a live team of personal assistants who can provide help on a variety of topics including weather forecasts, city guides and driving directions. While the system is offered for up to four years on new and certified pre-owned Infiniti models, it's also included on any used vehicle purchased from an Infiniti dealer for one year, regardless of manufacturer.
While a standard three-month subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio and a one-year trial of Infiniti's new 24-hour concierge service may not be enough to sway some pre-owned car buyers, shoppers looking to get more bang for their buck may find themselves gravitating towards Infiniti dealers for their next used car purchase. Nissan dealers, too, will likely see an uptick in used car sales thanks to the promise of free SiriusXM - a small advantage in a very competitive field.
