- BMW unveils the updated 2013 X6 Sports Activity Coupe in Geneva
- 2013 model includes new paint and new M Performance Package
- Slated to arrive at BMW showrooms this spring
When BMW introduced the X6 three years ago, it created a new vehicle segment: the Sports Activity Coupe. Since then, BMW has sold over 150,000 X6s world wide-far more than forecasted. Eager to further the X6's sales momentum, BMW adds new upgrades to the X6 line for 2013.
For those customers not ready to invest in the X6 M, BMW now offers the M Performance Package for the standard X6 in the US. Not only an appearance upgrade, the M Performance Package also includes an engine upgrade. The X6 xDrive35i receives a 15 horsepower and 30 pound feet of torque M upgrade giving it 315 horsepower and 330 pound feet. On the X6 xDrive50i the power output increase is an additional 40 horsepower and 30 pound feet of torque for a total output of 440 horsepower and 480 pound feet. In addition, the M Performance Package includes 20-inch light alloy wheels, black chrome exhaust tips, stainless steel pedals, M footrest and door sills, shadowline exterior trim, anthracite headliner, and optional Carbon Black metallic paint.
For the non-M Performance Package equipped 2013 X6, BMW offers new paint, wheels, and leather. On the outside, BMW offers three new metallic paint color options: Marrakesh Brown metallic, Orion Silver metallic and Midnight Blue metallic. On the interior, for 2013, BMW offers the standard Nevada leather upholstery in Vermillion Red. Customers will also be able to upgrade to the new Napa Leather upholstery in Ivory White.
The 2013 BMW X6 arrives in US showrooms in the spring of 2012.
What it means to you: Having sold far more X6s than previously anticipated, BMW updates the X6 for the 2013 model year, eager to maintain its sales momentum.
