• Parker Brothers Concepts builds wild rides for Hollywood and collectors
  • Syfy's "Dream Machines" follows the brothers' projects
  • AutoTrader.com concept includes sports car, truck and green features

From the guys who created Batman's "Batpod" motorcycle for The Dark Knight and the Light Cycles in Tron: Legacy comes a special, one-off concept built for AutoTrader.com. On the Syfy channel show Dream Machines, Florida-based brothers Marc and Shanon Parker, along with the crew at Parker Brothers Concepts, built an imaginative machine that reflects a bit of everything AutoTrader.com has to offer, including sports cars, trucks and green vehicles.

That formula starts with a look that Shanon, the shop's chief designer, says draws inspiration from AutoTrader.com's wide range of vehicles. Marc, Parker Brothers' engineering and fabrication specialist, calls it "an old-school, open-cockpit roadster... but with a really futuristic edge."

With an all-electric drivetrain, the concept is certainly on the cutting edge of automotive technology. But this machine is not engineered just to be green. It's capable of producing 700 horsepower for sports car performance and has big, 24-inch all-terrain tires that give it a truck-like presence.

More technology is included elsewhere. The concept's instrumentation - gauges and vehicle information - are displayed on a center-mounted iPad. LED lighting, which uses less energy than other lighting sources and is becoming increasingly common on luxury cars, is used throughout.

To learn more about the vehicle and see the Parker Brothers team transform it from idea into reality, watch the episode of Dream Machines airing on Syfy.

What it means to you: Watch Parker Brothers Concepts build an imaginative, electric-powered vehicle for AutoTrader.com on the new Syfy show Dream Machines.
