BMW's Performance Center is an impressive complex that comprises classrooms, blacktop and an off-road course. The Performance Center sits right next door to BMW's South Carolina plant, which has been up and running since the early 1990s. Currently, the factory produces the BMW X5, X6 and X3.

BMW has invested about $12 million in the performance center, and it's clearly money well spent. The Performance Center is a place where BMW owners and other driving enthusiasts can really push the limits of the cars and their driving skills.

Anyone who buys a new BMW can opt to pick it up at the Performance Center. Thankfully, it doesn't cost extra, but you do have to get yourself to South Carolina on your own dime. In exchange, you get some quality time in a car just like the one you bought.

Owners can experience all that BMW has to offer through a combination of high- and low-speed driving exercises, car control on a wet skid pad and a high-speed track and even off-road instruction depending on which program you opt for and which BMW you're driving.

Other Performance Center opportunities include motorcycle training, teen driving school, M high-performance school and basic car handling classes.

The goal of BMW's Performance Driving School and the new car delivery program is to help BMW owners get most out of their cars and to help all drivers be a little safer behind the wheel.

Visit the BMW Performance Center website to learn more about taking delivery at the facility or BMW driving schools.
