The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder features a unique seating system that provides more space to reach the third row even with a child safety seat located in the second row.
Similar to the setup featured on the new Infiniti JX, a three-row crossover from Nissan's luxury brand, the EZ Flex system includes LATCH AND GLIDE technology on the second row. To give more space for reaching the third row, the second-row seat bottom folds up and the seat slides forward. But LATCH AND GLIDE also allows the system to work with a child safety seat in place. The second row seat tilts down and slides forward to allow third-row access.
LATCH AND GLIDE means that parents don't need to wrestle with a child safety seat to remove and reinstall it, and that third-row passengers aren't required to do acrobatic maneuvers to reach their seats. Flexible seating makes the standard third row easier to use in the seven-passenger Pathfinder.
For greater comfort once passengers are in place, the second row slides fore and aft 5.5 inches to expand leg room in the third row. Both rows also include a reclining function for the seat backs, making the 2013 Pathfinder the only vehicle in its segment with a reclining third row.
The second- and third-row seats fold flat for trips that need more cargo space. Third-row seats, which accommodate two passengers in the upright position, split fifty-fifty and fold. The three-passenger, second-row seats split sixty-forty. An extra bin under the floor of the cargo area offers more storage.
The all-new Pathfinder offers the most interior passenger volume of any full-size crossover or SUV, and space is certainly important for drivers that need to carry larger families or lots of cargo. But the versatility of the EZ Flex seating system sets the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder apart, and the LATCH AND GLIDE technology makes all that space easier to use.
What it means to you: What good is a third row if reaching it is difficult or requires removing a child safety seat? The 2013 Pathfinder eliminates third-row access issues.
