If you haven't heard of Ford's "Random Acts of Fusion" marketing campaign, you've tuned in just in time. Folks who visit a participating Ford dealer on November 15 will help a good cause and could win an American Idol trip or even a new 2013 Ford Fusion.
Ford has already given away three Fusions during the campaign. "Frank S" won a random-drawing photo contest with his picture of empty bottles arranged as the number 47 (the Fusion Hybrid's MPG rating); "Pete W" won a 47-hour nationwide scavenger hunt; and "Dan E" won a 47-word essay competition with an eight-line poem about his Fusion fixation.
But don't worry if you're not one of those three lucky guys, because Ford's giving everyone another chance with "Go Further with Ford Night" -- and they're lending a helping hand to charity, too. On the night of November 15, participating Ford dealers will donate $10 to a favorite charity on behalf of the first 50 dealership visitors, and all visitors will be entered to win a 2013 Ford Fusion of their own.
Additionally, visitors will have a unique opportunity to test their American Idol judging chops. A webcam will be set up in each dealership along with a special video message from host Ryan Seacrest, and willing parties can watch a pre-recorded performance and do their best impression of an American Idol judge. Ford will then review the webcam footage from across the country, and the best judge gets an all-expenses-paid trip to Hollywood as Ford's VIP guest for an American Idol episode.
People who would rather not ham it up in front of the camera, by the way, can enter to win a non-VIP trip to American Idol at www.randomactsoffusion.com.
But if you like the sound of helping a charity and winning stuff, too, we suggest finding your nearest participating Ford dealer and heading over on the evening of the 18th. Go Further with Ford Night is a one-time deal, and we wouldn't want to miss it.
