Most car shoppers will get their first look at the redesigned 2014 Kia Forte in the brand's Hotbots Super Bowl ad. In the ad, a high-tech robot spokesmodel happily shows off the Forte until one onlooker gets too close.

The latest Forte is longer, wider, and lower than its predecessor. It also features Kia's stylish design themes, scaled down from its larger models like the popular Optima sedan. Shoppers have a choice of two 4-cylinder engines: a 148-horsepower 1.8-liter or a 173-hp 2.0-liter. As noted in the Hotbots ad, a major focus of the 2014 Forte is technology. Available items include a backup camera, navigation and a 4.2-inch color touchscreen with Kia's UVO infotainment system.

The 2014 Kia Forte goes on sale early in 2013. Prices have yet to be announced, but we expect the latest Forte to include only a modest increase over last year's model. That means base LX models will likely start around $16,000, while a fully-equipped EX could reach into the mid-$20,000 range.
