The 2013 RAM 1500 pickup stars in the extended Farmer Super Bowl commercial from Chrysler. The ad, which samples a famous speech by radio broadcaster Paul Harvey, highlights American farmers on the job using their RAM trucks.

With extensive updates for 2013, the RAM 1500 competes with the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado and Toyota Tundra. Chrysler's efficient 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 serves as the base engine, while a new 8-speed automatic transmission replaces the old 6-speed in some trim levels. Those changes are good for a class-leading 25 mpg on the highway. The RAM 1500 starts around $23,000 for a base model, while upscale Laramie models can easily top $40,000.

On sale now, the 2013 RAM 1500 also boasts a new interior for the latest model year. While heavy-duty RAM models weren't featured in the Farmer ad, RAM pickups are also offered in workhorse RAM 2500 and RAM 3500 versions.
