What is it?

The 200 is Chrysler's midsize sedan, which will soon be up for replacement. The 2013 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition ends the model's run with some style. Setting the Special Edition apart from normal 200 models is a gloss black mesh grille, a chrome grille accent and gloss black wheels. Inside, the sedan includes leather seats, gray stitching and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. There's also a standard Boston Acoustics sound system for music lovers.

How much?

The 200 S Special Edition will start at $28,870.

When can you get it?

Chrysler says the 200 S Special Edition goes on sale "soon." We expect it will arrive in dealers later this spring.

Add it to your shopping list because...

The 2013 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition is a stylish send-off for Chrysler's midsize sedan. Shoppers who want a unique look for their new 4-door would be wise to check out the 200 S Special Edition. That's especially true for drivers looking for a midsize sedan with some power. All 200 S models, including the Special Edition, use Chrysler's highly praised 283-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. Thanks to lightweight construction and a 6-speed automatic, the 200 manges a respectable 19 mpg city and 29 mpg highway.

Other cars to consider:

Ford Fusion: The redesigned Fusion is one of the top midsize sedans. While its 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder only has 231 hp, it's almost as quick as the V6-powered 200. And, at 22 mpg city/31 mpg highway, it's more efficient.

Mazda6: Like the 200 S Special Edition, the Mazda6 is a great car for style-conscious shoppers. The latest model is all-new and offers sculpted lines not usually seen on a midsize sedan. The only drawback: There's no V6. But that doesn't stop the Mazda6 from handling like a sports car.

Toyota Camry: The Camry is a longtime favorite among midsize sedan shoppers. The sedan's roomy interior and strong reliability are two reasons for its success. A reasonable starting price of around $23,000 is certainly another.

Used Chrysler 300: If you're looking for style, the bigger 300 has you covered. While new models start around $31,000, a lightly used 300 should be available in the mid-$20,000 range. We recommend at least a 2011 model, since it offers the latest style.
