- Unique styling inside and out
- Features such as automatic climate control and heated front seats
- Standard Trac-Lok anti-spin rear differential
Jeep announced a special edition model of its iconic off-road vehicle, the Wrangler, with styling and features designed for comfort and capability in harsh winter weather. The 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition is available for both the standard 2-door Wrangler and the 4-door Wrangler Unlimited. The special edition includes unique styling inside and out, plus some standard features that are only offered as options on the Wrangler Sahara.
Of those features, several are geared toward winter driving. Automatic climate control and heated front seats, for example, help keep occupants warm in harsh weather. A body-colored hardtop -- an option on the Wrangler Sahara -- insulates against the chill.
While cabin features in the new 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition are designed to keep passengers warm, the styling is decidedly cool. Inside, the Polar Edition uses white accent stitching for the black leather seats, which are embroidered with the Polar logo. White is the trim color of choice throughout the interior, appearing on the passenger-side grab bar, vent rings and instrument rings. The instrument rings contrast against a blue background that's also unique to the special edition.
For the exterior, the Wrangler Polar Edition sports 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels and a black fuel door from Mopar. Polar badges and graphics for the body sides and hood further differentiate the special edition from more common Wrangler models. Three exterior colors are available: Hydro Blue, Billet Silver Metallic and Bright White.
The look of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition is complemented by mechanical components that help it perform on rough terrain and in slippery winter conditions. Jeep's Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential -- an option on the Sahara -- is included as standard on the Polar Edition. An electronic locking rear differential is also available. Wrangler Polar Edition buyers can choose either a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.
The Jeep Wrangler remains a favorite for those who demand off-road capability from their vehicles. But the Wrangler is also a fun and affordable all-around vehicle that attracts drivers who have no intention of hitting the trails. If you fall into either of those categories but also want a distinctive Wrangler that looks different from the others, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition is worthy of consideration.
What it means to you: The Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition that made its auto show debut last month is now available in the U.S. It sports unique winter-themed features, equipment and styling.
