• Hyundai has officially revealed its all-new 2015 Genesis sedan
  • The sedan offers new styling inside and out but keeps today's engines
  • We'll know more when Hyundai announces details in January

The all-new 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan has been officially unveiled. Hyundai recently debuted the fully redesigned sedan on the Internet ahead of the model's live debut at this year's Detroit Auto Show in January.

On the outside, the Genesis boasts big changes compared to today's model. The sedan offers a sleeker look with more luxurious design cues, such as smaller headlights and taillights, a big grille and an almost coupelike shape. It also trades some of the old model's rounded styling for sharper creases.

The Genesis is all-new on the inside, too. The center stack trades in the current model's round bulge below the air vents and infotainment screen in favor of a sharper, more angular design. The screen itself also grows several inches, and it's placed closer to the driver for better visibility. The sedan's steering wheel is also updated, as are air vents, gauges and many interior materials.

Under the hood, the Genesis won't see as many changes. Expect the standard engine to remain a 3.8-liter V6 with around 330 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, while the optional V8 will produce about 430 hp and 375 lb-ft. Also expect rear-wheel drive to be standard, with all-wheel drive available on the car's options list.

Of course, sharp minds will note the Genesis isn't just a luxury sedan. The nameplate also includes a 2-door coupe, which trades a lot of the sedan's upscale ambiance for sporty styling and high-performance handling.

So what's happening to the coupe?

Hyundai has yet to announce as much, and we'd be surprised to hear anything right away. The Genesis Coupe received a face-lift for the 2013 model year that boasted new styling and updated engines. As a result, a full redesign is likely still a few years away.

If you're interested in the 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan, keep checking back for more details. We'll have further information when the car debuts at this year's Detroit Auto Show.

What it means to you: The latest Hyundai Genesis offers high-end styling and -- we expect -- high-end equipment to match.
