What Is It?

The 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad is a new trim level designed to give the midsize Journey crossover a more rugged look. To achieve that goal, the Crossroad trim offers a host of upgrades both inside and outside the SUV.

On the outside, Crossroad models are immediately distinguished from the standard Journey models thanks to their front and rear chrome trim, which is designed to mimic the push bars and skid plates of off-road-oriented SUVs and trucks. The Crossroad also boasts dark-tinted headlights and taillights, black wheels and chrome-painted side skirts.

The Journey Crossroad also features several revisions on the inside. Such items include mesh inserts on the crossover's black leather seats, gray stitching and a Liquid Graphite finish applied to the SUV's instrument panel, gauge cluster, center console and other areas.

How Much?

The Journey Crossroad is priced from $25,990 with shipping.

Add It to Your Shopping List Because?

There's no doubt that the Dodge Journey is a well-equipped crossover that boasts a lot of desirable features, both standard and optional. But if you think it looks too plain, the 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad is the solution to your problems. Not only can you get the Journey's 8.4-inch touchscreen and its muscular 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, but the Journey Crossroad also adds a lot of handsome exterior touches for drivers who want to be satisfied every time they approach their SUV.

Other Cars to Consider

Ford Edge -- Unlike the Journey, the Edge doesn't have 3-row seating. But with V6 power, competitive pricing and a long list of technology, it still offers an excellent family vehicle for shoppers who don't need seven seats.

Honda Pilot -- The Pilot comes standard with a third row and V6 power. There's no off-road version, but the Pilot is an excellent choice for shoppers interested in a competent family vehicle.

Jeep Grand Cherokee -- The Grand Cherokee's primary drawback is that it lacks 3-row seating. Otherwise, it offers everything available in the Journey, including the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. And it includes off-road ability that the Journey can't match.
