• Available Porsche vehicles at luxury hotels
  • Five destinations nationwide
  • Suggested routes from each location

Just as the summer travel season arrives, Porsche has teamed up with Forbes Travel Guide to offer guests at select luxury hotels a chance to see local sights from behind the wheel of a new Porsche. Called Porsche Destination Drives, the program includes five luxury properties from Boston to San Diego. Three Porsche models are available for guests, and Forbes Travel Guide even recommends routes that include the best landmarks and restaurants along the way.

Guests looking for a wind-in-your-hair driving experience can choose the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet for a 2-hour drive. The 400-horsepower sports car is the latest iteration of Porsche's iconic model, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Drivers interested in the latest green technology can select the Panamera S E-Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that's pure Porsche. Equal parts sporty and efficient, the Panamera S E-Hybrid combines a supercharged V6 engine with an electric motor and battery pack. The 4-passenger sedan can sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 5.2 seconds and can travel 20 miles on electricity alone.

Porsche's newest SUV, the compact Macan, arrives this year, but the automaker's SUV of choice for Porsche Destination Drives is the larger Cayenne GTS. Sporty, blacked-out exterior trim characterizes the GTS, which is powered by a 420-hp V8 engine. Inside, the Cayenne GTS is both athletic and luxurious, with sports seats, aluminum trim and paddle shifters.

The five properties included in Porsche Destination Drives are each 5-star-rated by Forbes Travel Guide. First on the schedule is Boston's Four Seasons Hotel, where the program will take place from May 10 through June 7. Recommended drives from Boston include historic landmarks such as Lexington and Concord. From June 14 through July 12, Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago hosts Destination Drives. There, travelers can visit Wrigley Field or take a drive along the shore of Lake Michigan.

Two California cities are on the schedule later in the year. From July 26 through August 23 in San Diego, guests stay at The Grand Del Mar and can road-trip to destinations such as Coronado or Rancho Santa Fe. In San Francisco, Forbes Travel Guide recommends the Mandarin Oriental and a drive to Point Reyes National Seashore, or south to Half Moon Bay. This fourth destination is scheduled from September 13 through October 11.

The final property on the tour is The Canyon Suites at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Ariz. From October 11 through December 13, guests can enjoy the natural beauty and unique culture of the desert southwest while sampling a new Porsche automobile.

For travelers who have not yet driven a new Porsche, Destination Drives is an opportunity to take an extended test drive in an exciting and scenic location. For Porsche drivers, the program offers a relaxing vacation, luxuriously equipped with a world-class automobile.

What it means to you: Ready for a pampered experience in a luxury hotel and a drive in an exciting new Porsche? Reserve a spot on the Porsche Destination Drives tour.
