- 154,036 2010 Lexus RX models are being recalled to address a floor mat issue.
- Owners should not use incompatible or unsecured driver's side floor mats.
- This is the first recall for the 2010 Lexus RX
Lexus has initiated a voluntary safety recall of 154,036 RX350 and RX450h vehicles to correct potential interference by the driver's side floor mat with the accelerator pedal. A floor mat that is unsecured or not compatible with the vehicle could interfere with the accelerator pedal.
Lexus will begin notifying owners in early August. At no charge, dealers will modify or replace the accelerator pedal and replace any Toyota-designed all-weather floor mat not specified for the vehicle. While the specifics of the remedy plan are still being developed, Lexus has already issued some instructions to address the issue. Mainly, owners are asked to remove any incompatible floor mats and not replace them until the remedy has been completed.
