The CC has always offered the swooping coupe sedan look, but this new edition has been given some eye-catching revisions on the outside, all while keeping the proven chassis, powertrain and suspension used in the previous generation.
The eye-catching lines on the outside transfer to the interior, but the use of hard plastic can be slightly overwhelming. Unlike the previous generation, the CC can now handle three adults in the rear seat, as the old center console has been replaced. Depending on which setup you choose, gas mileage for the 2013 CC can range from a low 17 miles per gallon city with the all-wheel-drive VR6 to 32 mpg highway with a front-wheel-drive inline-4 CC. However, if you notice that the CC is stable at any speed, poised on tight corners and fun to drive, its fuel economy might fit the regular mold.
With numerous trims, the Volkswagen CC has quite a price range. The base Sport with the Lighting Package starts at just over $30,000, while just the VR6 4Motion Executive without options starts at $41,420. All trims and drivetrain combinations come standard with a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Since this market segment is full of great vehicles, you have many choices. Be sure to take a look at the Nissan Maxima, the Kia Optima SX or even the Toyota Camry SE V6.
