I have to admit that I really like our long-term 2013 Honda Accord. It does everything I expect from a midsize sedan, and it does those things well.

The 2013 Honda Accord is good-looking, is fun to drive, has adequate power, gets good fuel economy and is affordable. There isn't a better family sedan available.

While the Nissan Altima is about as good as the Accord, no midsize, mid-priced sedan is better than the 2013 Accord. The Accord Sport is especially compelling.

I have, however, always seen the new Accord as having one obvious flaw. It doesn't have anything to do with the car's acceleration, handling, brakes, interior space or seat comfort. Judged on all the usual mechanical criteria, the Honda Accord sets the bar high for other sedans.

My complaint has to do with the audio/navigation interface. On one occasion, I had the navigation system just stop and reset itself, and I feel the touchscreen audio display (which is separate from the nav screen) is unnecessary and redundant when the optional navigation system is ordered.

I was ready to suggest buyers skip the navigation altogether. But then, I connected my phone via Bluetooth and used the Pandora feature. The heavens parted and I suddenly got it.

The Pandora interface on the Accord is beautifully simple and yet accomplishes a lot. You can skip songs, thumb up or down right from the car's controls or even switch between your own created stations. Album art is included, as is song title and artist name.

I still think Honda has a little work to do on the information and entertainment features in the Accord, but the way it incorporates Pandora is brilliant.
