Pros: Incredible styling says "look at me" to everyone on the road; V12 offers amazing power in any situation; one of the most exciting interiors in any modern car

Cons: You'll never be able to blend in; pricing is astronomical, even for a Lamborghini; still no dual-clutch automatic like most rivals

What's new: After expanding its lineup to offer a drop-top Aventador Roadster last year, the 2014 Lamborghini Aventador is mostly the same for the new model year. The only update of note is a limited-production 50th Anniversary model offered as either a coupe or a Roadster.

The Lamborghini Aventador debuted back in 2012 as a replacement for the wild Murcielago. It's the flagship model in Lamborghini's range, which also includes the entry-level Gallardo -- a V10-powered sports car with a 6-figure price tag of its own.

But the Gallardo's starting price doesn't hold a candle to its big brother. An Aventador coupe starts around $400,000 with shipping -- and that's before options, which are plentiful. Want to put the top down? Prepare to pay around $445,000 with shipping -- also before options.

And if you want an especially unique experience, there's the new Aventador 50th Anniversary, limited to 100 units, which starts at $500,000 for a coupe or an eye-popping $550,000 for a Roadster.

Sound crazy? It is, but so is the Aventador's performance. Underneath the mid-mounted, see-through engine cover is a 6.5-liter V12 that makes an amazing 691 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque. Choose a 50th Anniversary model and the power shoots up to a wild 710 horses.

Regardless of the model you choose, you'll get a 7-speed sequential manual transmission, all-wheel drive and 0-to-60 times of around three seconds. The 2014 Lamborghini Aventador also boasts an incredible top speed of nearly 220 miles per hour, so get ready for some serious performance.
