Think affordable all-electric cars can't be cool? The 2015 Kia Soul EV may change your mind.
The new Soul EV has a range of 80 to 100 miles depending on the conditions. Also, the Soul EV has another advantage: Virtually no interior space is used up (versus the gasoline-powered Soul) by the batteries. Kia says that by using high-energy density batteries, they can get more power from a smaller battery pack.
If saving the planet is really important to you, the Soul EV will help in more ways than one. Not only does the Soul EV use no gasoline, but the interior is made of biomaterials. That means recycled and recyclable materials help lessen the car's impact on the environment when it's time to retire your Soul.
We don't know the prices yet, but the automaker says that the 2015 Kia Soul EV will be "reasonably priced." We're hoping for a mid-$30,000 range with a lease in the $200 to $300 per month range.
