You've probably seen the all-new 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, but Chevy has something a little different on display at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.

Ready for Action

It's not your usual high-performance gear, but the Chevy Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle's (PPV) V-rated tires, 17-inch steel wheels and 355-horsepower V8 are all designed to do one thing: catch bad guys.

Other upgrades include an auxiliary battery, a 170-amp alternator, engine oil cooler, heavy-duty brakes, heavy-duty engine cooling and underbody skid plates, along with more pedestrian options such as adjustable pedals and OnStar.

Fast & Furious

The Chevy Tahoe PPV gets from 0 to 60 miles per hour in eight seconds, goes from 0 to 100 mph in 21 seconds, has a top speed of 139 mph, and slows down from 60 to 0 mph in 133.8 feet.

The Tahoe PPV also has special police-grade suspension that lowers the vehicle, making it more stable at high speeds.

The Michigan State Police ranked the Tahoe PPV higher than the Ford Explorer, Ford Taurus and Dodge Charger in 28 police-specific categories.

While we'd love to drive a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV, we're hoping that we don't see one in our rearview mirror.
