If you're searching for a 2014 Nissan GT-R, you're already in the market for a special car. But drivers who want an even more exceptional vehicle should check out this 2014 GT-R, which was formerly owned by Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.
According to David, a salesman at Cochran Nissan near Pittsburgh, Pa., Fleury bought this GT-R new earlier this year. The hockey star only had it a few months before he traded it in for the same reason many drivers sell their sports cars: a growing family.
"He had a baby just after he bought it," said David, who confirmed the car has just over 2,400 miles on the odometer. "He wasn't driving it much, so he traded it in."
But Fleury didn't exactly swap it out for a minivan, as the NHL goaltender has other high-end luxury cars that offer more space than the GT-R. Still, he did say goodbye to the high-performance Nissan after just three months, during which time he took good care of the 545-horsepower twin-turbocharged sports car.
"The car is in perfect shape," noted David. "You'd never know it was a used car. [Fleury] didn't even add an exhaust."
Fleury's decision not to customize the black GT-R is indeed surprising, because many of the high-performance coupes are highly modified. That owes to the car's narrow appeal, primarily to sports-car enthusiasts and people who enjoy a thrill.
Fleury is certainly in the latter group. The professional goalie has played for the Penguins since his NHL debut in 2003, appearing in more than 450 games and recording a 91-percent save percentage. He was also a member of the 2009 Penguins, which won the Stanley Cup.
For those interested in a 2014 Nissan GT-R with a well-known previous owner, Fleury's car is available at Cochran Nissan for $89,900.
