For sale right now on AutoTrader is a 2008 Lincoln Mark LT pickup that was once owned by rapping legend 50 Cent.
In Hollywood, 50 Cent goes by his real name, Curtis Jackson, but he's best known for making some of the most influential the rap music of the 2000s. His albums have been certified platinum eight times and Billoard ranked him the number one rap artist of the last decade.
50 had the truck built by Valanca Auto Concepts to promote his website at the 2009 Funk Flex car show. The shop added thousands of dollars in upgrades to help it stand out at the show.
Larry Polsky, an attorney in South Padre Island, Texas, now owns the truck. Polsky said he got the truck from a colleague who knew the rapper in New Jersey.
Black on white was the theme for this truck's modifications. The dark side stripe and blacked out taillights accent its wheels. The oversized wheels were custom machined from aluminum, and they even sport a set of center caps that read "This is 50."
Polsky said he gets stopped on an almost daily basis by 50 Cent fans who want to know more about his truck. "People want to take pictures with it," he said. "I didn't even know he was that popular. I just wanted a nice truck."
Since the Lincoln was built for one of the top names in the rapping world, the factory audio system had to be upgraded. The shop installed a JL Audio setup in the truck and the navigation system has been modified to play movies on the factory screen.
The interior received painted accents to match the exterior, and the headliner was swapped out for a new suede one.
Mechanically, the only modification the Mark LT received was a free flowing custom exhaust. You can hear what it sounds like in a video on the 50 Cent website.
The owner asks $32,995 for the truck, about average with the estimated KBB value.
