For sale right now on AutoTrader is a 2003 Lexus SC 430 that was once owned by Dane Cook.
The car's current owner, Jonny Brownleader, said he saw the the famous comedian return the SC 430 to the Beverly Hills Lexus dealer after its lease was up. Brownleader said he bought the car while Cook signed a new lease on another SC.
Dane Cook is one of the most successful comedians in the country. He got his start performing stand-up in New York City, and has since released four comedic albums, two of which reached the number four spot on the Billboard 200 charts.
Cook mostly left stand-up comedy in 2009 and has since focused mostly on acting. He has more than 30 movie and TV credits to his name. Cook's most recent film, Guns, Girls and Gambling, is scheduled to come out later this year.
Debuting in 2001, the SC430 was the first convertible ever made by Lexus.
It's powered by a 4.3 liter V8 engine that produces 300 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. The silky smooth motor can push the car from 0-60 mph in around 6.5 seconds. That's not really all that impressive for a two seat convertible, but the Lexus was never really about out-and-out performance.
The SC 430's cushy suspension is one of the most luxurious in the segment, but also one of the least sporty. Cook would have found the Lexus more at home cruising the swanky streets of Beverly Hills (that's Rodeo Drive pictured behind the car) than carving up the twisty back roads of Malibu.
This 'luxury first' mantra carries through to the SC 430's interior as well. On the inside, you won't find any carbon fiber or sleek brushed aluminum; the Lexus is loaded with plush leather and polished wood. Cook opted for a black leather interior that matches the car's outside and sharply contrasts the car's wood accents.
The car is listed at $19,995 which is slightly less than the suggested KBB value.
