LA Auto Show attendees can compete for car buying glory and a $500 prize at this year's AutoTrader.com display.
The booth features a video game that replicates the AutoTrader.com commercials. In the game, drivers race through a simulated heart and mind as they make car-buying decisions.
Along the way, racers pick up bonus upgrades like leather interior or all wheel drive. Top points are awarded for picking the most upgrades and completing the course in the shortest amount of time.
The top scores are displayed on TV screens around the booth, and at the end of the show the person with the highest score will win a $500 gift card.
Some gamers will be declared instant winners and can receive AutoTrader.com blankets, coffee mugs or a number of other prizes.
The company will also have experts on hand at the show in case anyone is inspired by the cars on display and feels like picking up a new ride. The AutoTrader.com reps will be able to help people look for, research and even buy cars through the website.
"We want AutoTrader to be your new car adviser," said Carol Ashby, the company's consumer marketing manager "Now that you've seen it at the show, we can help you buy one."
If you aren't sure what kind of car you would like to check out at the show, there is a guided car buying tool that takes input on desired features and recommends the best cars for you. The AutoTrader staff can then give you a list of those cars so you can look for them on the show floor.
