Gearing up for a redesign next year, the 2001 Mercury Mountaineer remains relatively unchanged this season. It�s offered with your choice of 2WD, AWD or 4WD and boasts a solid 112-inch wheelbase. This flexible four door SUV features a 210 horsepower 4.0-liter V6 mated to a 5-speed overdrive-enabled automatic transmission under the hood. With seating capacity for up to seven and a good sized cargo hold for plenty of gear, the Mountaineer also boasts a nice list of luxury equipment, including auto climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, power accessories and an adjustable steering wheel.
