The 2007 Hummer H2, with its 6-foot 7-inch height and 6,400-pound curb weight, makes an impression wherever it shows up, and you're not likely to encounter three other H2s at the local neighborhood four-way stop. The H2's impressive off-road capabilities are courtesy of its monstrous 315-series tires and aggressive approach and departure angles, and its 6,700-pound towing capability keeps up with other full-size pickups. The H2's styling and attitude is obviously inspired by the military-style H1, but it costs half as much.
Hummer's 2007 H2 changed very little from last year. A useful rear-vision camera is now optional, as is a rear seat DVD entertainment system. The Victory Red Special Edition package is new for 2007, and it provides off-road lights, body molding, special chrome wheels and the rear-vision system. XM satellite radio is now standard as well.
The 2007 Hummer H2 continues to be built on the four-wheel-drive Chevy Tahoe platform, but with a heavier-duty frame and sturdier suspension components. Its high seating position and imposing stance has the tough-guy appeal of the H1, but with an MSRP that starts at $54,110. Two body styles are available: a sport utility body and what Hummer calls an SUT, or a sport-utility truck with an open-air 4x6-foot pickup-style bed.
