A carry-over from 2006, the Azera is a four-door five-passenger family sedan offered in three trim levels � the GLS, SE and Limited. The GLS trims is powered by a 234 hp 3.3L V6. The SE and Limited receive a 3.8L V6 that produces 263 horsepower linked to a five-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai claims their flagship Azera offers more standard equipment for the dollar than any of its competitors, and when considering everything even the base SE trim comes with, it's tough to argue. A smooth drivetrain, 16' aluminum wheels, anti-lock brakes, and traction and stability control are all standard. Choosing the rest of the available equipment--such as a sunroof, leather seats, Infinity audio system, power tilt/telescopic steering column, power pedals, rain sensing wipers and more--still totals less than $31,000, which makes it one of the best luxury sedan values in the market.

What's new for 2007?

Hyundai has added a few new features on the up-level Azera Limited for 2007, in addition to making XM satellite radio standard for all trim levels starting with the 2007.5 model year. These new Limited features include a revised 'Clear Vision' electroluminescent instrument cluster, enhanced steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, and available exterior mirror mounted LED turn signals.

The Azera is Hyundai's entry in the large luxury sedan market, and it remains one of the best appointed sedans in its class. With standard steering wheel mounted audio controls, automatic headlight control, power seats and XM satellite radio, the Azera delivers in most areas. It even boasts an air quality control system that monitors humidity and outside pollutants on its standard dual zone climate control system.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs independent crash testing of new vehicles and then assigns them a score based on their performance. The overall crash test rating is based on how a vehicle performs in the following tests: Driver Crash Grade: Measures the chance of a serious injury to a crash test dummy that is placed in a driver's seat and driven into a fixed barrier at 35 MPH. A five-star rating means there is 10 percent or less chance of injury. Passenger Crash Grade: Similar to the driver crash grade, only now the focus is on the passenger. Rollover Resistance: Simulates an emergency lane change to measure the likelihood of a vehicle rolling over. A five-star rating means there is 10 percent or less risk of rollover. Side Impact Crash Test - Front: Focuses on the front side of a vehicle. It simulates crashes that can occur in intersections by striking a 3,015-pound weight against the side of a vehicle at 38.5 MPH. A five-star rating means there is 5 percent or less chance of injury.
