Newly redesigned for 2007, the Tuscon is a four-door five-passenger cross-over SUV offered in three trim levels � the GLS, SE and Limited, with the GLS featuring a 16-valve 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 140 horsepower (with a standard five-speed manual transmission with a four-speed automatic as optional). The SE and Limited come standard with a 24-valve 2.7-liter V6 that produces 173 horsepower and a four-speed automatic transmission. All models are offered in front and all-wheel-drive.

Model Review

The 2007 Tucson's styling bears a close resemblance to the other Hyundai five-place SUV, the Santa Fe. The interior is pleasantly up-market, with high quality trim flanking the center stack. The rest of the dashboard is cleanly laid out with a fine symmetry and good quality of materials. The cloth seats are very comfortable.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs independent crash testing of new vehicles and then assigns them a score based on their performance.
