The 2007 Isuzu Ascender is a Chevrolet TrailBlazer/GMC Envoy wearing the Isuzu three-bar grill, and therefore offers a similar level of toughness and reliability. Like its brethren, it offers an in-line six-cylinder engine that is fairly torquey at 275 lb-ft of torque. The warranty coverage on the Ascender is better than most of its competitors.
Isuzu has dropped the seven-passenger, longer wheelbase version of the Ascender for 2007, as well as its optional V8 engine. While most engines have received a lower number for horsepower output in 2007, due to the new way of measuring with all normal accessories, the Ascender's engine output is higher. The 4.2L in-line six-cylinder moves up by 16 horsepower from 275 to 291.
The 2007 Isuzu Ascender is essentially a Chevy TrailBlazer, though the Ascender's warranty is different and it is only available with a 4.2L in-line six-cylinder engine that makes 291 horsepower. This engine is also rated at 275 lb-ft of torque and provides pretty good pulling power. A four-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment.
