The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always been where traditional luxury and cutting-edge technology meet, and the 2007 offerings are no exception. With significantly more power and sportier equipment than in 2006, however, the S-Class is now in a new, high-performance realm. Furthermore, the latest S-Class builds on its reputation for safety with an abundance of active and passive safety features.
Mercedes-Benz' S-Class has been completely redesigned for 2007. The big flagship luxury sedan grows slightly in all outward dimensions, and gets more power across the line. Leading-edge technology features include 'smart' massaging seats, a night-vision system, and an advanced cruise control system.
The 2007 S550 has a 382-horsepower 5.5L V8 engine, while the S600 gets a 5.5L twin-turbo V12 engine that makes 510 horsepower and 612 lb-ft of torque. The S550's V8 is matched to a new seven-speed automatic transmission, while the S600's V12 runs through a five-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is available on the S550.
