2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor Sport Utility Crossover

Summary

Provided by NADAguides.com

The 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor gets high marks as a reliable, durable SUV. Even though it lacks a third-row seat compared to other vehicles in its class, it boasts plenty of power under the hood and responsive handling on a variety of terrain. The Endeavor is offered in LS and SE trims with your choice of FWD or AWD with a 225 horsepower 3.8-liter gas-powered V6 under the hood. Its list of standard equipment is decent and includes air, cruise, keyless entry, power controls, lumbar seats, AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio, airbags, ABS and traction control. It seats up to five.

Benefits of Driving a 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor Sport Utility Crossover

Though it has outward styling that's more rugged-looking than many of its competitors, the 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor is a car-based utility vehicle, with a smooth ride and surprisingly nimble, carlike handling for a vehicle with its ride height. It's also strong in safety features, including a full array of air bags, anti-lock brakes, and electronic stability control now across the model line. Mitsubishi also says that the Endeavor is especially generous in rear legroom and has some of the widest front seats in its market segment.

What's new for 2008?

All 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor models now get the active stability and traction control system, Mitsubishi's electronic stability control, and Sirius satellite radio, including six months of prepaid service, is now included in the Endeavor SE model.

Model Strengths

  • smooth ride
  • extensive list of standard features.

Model Review

All 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavors have a 3.8L V6 engine that makes 225 horsepower and a respectable 255 pound-feet of torque, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The engine is tuned for strong response and torque at low engine speeds, good for towing and hauling and quiet operation, and the transmission has a Sportronic mode that allows manual gear selection.

2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor: What's New

Source: The Car Connection

Mitsubishi brings back the Endeavor crossover for the 2008 model year again in two trim levels, LS and SE.

The SE comes in three grades: SE, SE with the Sunroof Package, or SE with the Sunroof Package and a new DVD-based navigation system. Most big-ticket items (such as the GPS system and leather seats) are only available on SE, which also comes standard with heated seats and a premium Rockford Acoustic Design stereo with Sirius satellite radio.

The Endeavor also adds a new black center dash panel, updated door trim, and stitching on its leather shift knob and steering wheel this year. The LS model loses its separate flip-up hatchback glass. In November, a two-tone leather interior will become available.

Both the SE and LE continue with the 3.8 liter V-6 engine used previously, rated for 2008 at 230 horsepower. A four-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift abilities is standard, and both front- and all-wheel-drive models are available.

All Endeavors also get standard rollover-sensing side curtain airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, and 17-inch wheels, and Mitsubishi's Active Skid and Traction Control (ASTC) system, as well as anti-lock braking with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).

Original Warranty  help
Original Warranty
An original warranty is the warranty associated with a vehicle when it is brand new. In addition to the original warranty, select items, like tires, are typically covered by respective manufacturers. Also, an act of Federal law sometimes provides protection for certain components, like emissions equipment.
The original warranty is often broken down into multiple sections, including:
Basic Warranty:
Typically covers everything except for parts that wear out through normal use of the vehicle. Examples of non-covered items are brake pads, wiper blades and filters.
Drivetrain Warranty:
This warranty covers items the basic warranty does not protect. Wear and tear items such as hoses will not be covered, but key items like the engine, transmission, drive axles and driveshaft often will be.
Roadside Assistance:
The level of service differs greatly with this warranty, but many manufacturers offer a toll-free number that helps provide assistance in case you run out of gas, get a flat tire or lock your keys in the car.
Corrosion Warranty:
This warranty focuses on protecting you from holes caused by rust or corrosion in your vehicle's sheet metal.
Please check the owner's manual, visit a local dealership or look at the manufacturer's website to learn more about the specifics of the warranties that apply to a vehicle.
