2009 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Convertible

Summary

Provided by NADAguides.com

The Aston Martin Vantage gets new features for 2009, including an updated engine, lighter flywheels for better throttle response, stiffer suspension, a redesigned center console and hard-disk drive (HDD) navigation. The Vantage is available as a coupe or as a convertible with a power-operated cloth soft top that can be lowered in 18 seconds, even at 30 mph. Powered by 4.7L V8 engine capable of 420 hp and 346 lb-ft of torque, the Vantage is equipped with rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission, or optionally a six-speed automatic with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Zero to 60 mph is clocked at 4.7 seconds, and the maximum speed is 180 mph. EPA-estimated fuel economy numbers for the manual transmission are 12 mpg city/19 mpg hwy, and for the Sportshift automatic, 13/19. Aston Martin Vantage standard features include 18-inch wheels, 10-way power sport seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control and a six-CD changer. Xenon headlights, cruise control, a navigation system, 19-inch wheels, heated seats and seat memory are options.

Benefits of Driving a 2009 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Convertible

The two-seat 2009 Vantage is more of a pure sports car than the larger, heavier 2+2 models from Aston Martin, and the Vantage ranks as the most affordable vehicle in the British automaker's exclusive model line. It's a direct competitor to the Porsche 911, and possibly the Jaguar XKR and the Audi R8.

What's new for 2009?

After being completely redesigned for 2006, Aston Martin's Vantage continues into 2009 with few changes. The Vantage's V8 engine has grown to 4.8L and now generates 420 hp. Aston Martin has tinkered with the Sportshift transmission, and now it's more responsive and features smoother shifts. The center control console has been redesigned and the car adopted a version of big brother DBS' electronic key system.

Model Review

Power on the 2009 Aston Martin Vantage is provided by a 420-horsepower, 4.8L V8 with dry-sump lubrication--for more consistent oil distribution in high-performance track driving--and variable inlet cam timing. With the standard six-speed manual gearbox, the Vantage can race to 60 miles per hour in a very respectable 4.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 180 mph

Original Warranty  help
Original Warranty
An original warranty is the warranty associated with a vehicle when it is brand new. In addition to the original warranty, select items, like tires, are typically covered by respective manufacturers. Also, an act of Federal law sometimes provides protection for certain components, like emissions equipment.
The original warranty is often broken down into multiple sections, including:
Basic Warranty:
Typically covers everything except for parts that wear out through normal use of the vehicle. Examples of non-covered items are brake pads, wiper blades and filters.
Drivetrain Warranty:
This warranty covers items the basic warranty does not protect. Wear and tear items such as hoses will not be covered, but key items like the engine, transmission, drive axles and driveshaft often will be.
Roadside Assistance:
The level of service differs greatly with this warranty, but many manufacturers offer a toll-free number that helps provide assistance in case you run out of gas, get a flat tire or lock your keys in the car.
Corrosion Warranty:
This warranty focuses on protecting you from holes caused by rust or corrosion in your vehicle's sheet metal.
Please check the owner's manual, visit a local dealership or look at the manufacturer's website to learn more about the specifics of the warranties that apply to a vehicle.
