Unchanged from last year except for side mirrors that now incorporate turn signals, the 2009 Lexus SC 430 remains powered by a 4.3L near-silent V8 engine generating 288 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque with rear-wheel drive through a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. EPA estimated fuel economy comes in at 16 mpg city/23 mpg hwy and 19 mpg for combined driving. The SC 430 is equipped with standard safety features, such as antilock brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags and front-seat knee airbags. Lexus SC 430 photos and 360 views show off the sleek convertible's exterior and interior persona. The two-door convertible seats four passengers, transforming from hardtop luxury coupe to open-air convertible in less than 30 seconds. The 2009 Pebble Beach special edition, of which only 300 units will be available, features special badging, mercury metallic paint, a rear spoiler, special 18-inch wheels, illuminated scuff plates and other unique details.

Very little is changed on the Lexus SC 430 for 2009, other than the turn signals are now integrated into the side mirrors. The 2009 Pebble Beach Edition ? only 360 will be available ? comes with a Smokey Granite Mica exterior, Camel/Ecru interior, monogrammed floor mats and unique 18-inch alloy wheels.

The 2009 Lexus SC 430 is powered by an aluminum 4.3L DOHC 32-valve V8 engine producing 288 horsepower and 325 pound/feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control and continuously Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i). The Intuitive Powertrain Control works with the Electronic Throttle Control to help smooth out acceleration. The SC 430 meets Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle II (ULEV II) certification.
