2009 Lotus Exige Coupe

Summary

Provided by NADAguides.com

Unchanged from last year, the 2009 Lotus Exige two-seat sports coupe is compact and built for the pure thrill of ultra-high-performance driving. As a rear-wheel-drive coupe, the Lotus Elise S 240 is motivated by a 1.8L inline four-cylinder engine streaming 240 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque coupled to a six-speed manual transmission and can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 150 mph. Adding lightness and power, the Lotus Exige S 260 touts a supercharged I4 engine unleashing 257 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. Performance of the Lotus Exige is enhanced by having an air inlet scoop integrated into the roof to direct more air to the intercooler. EPA-estimated fuel economy for both versions of the Lotus Exige is 20 mpg city/26 mpg hwy. Lotus Exige safety features include an antilock braking system and standard airbags. Lotus Exige performance specifications attest to the true nature of this ultimate sports car.

Benefits of Driving a 2009 Lotus Exige Coupe

As a street-legal, race-worthy car that can achieve nearly 30 mpg, the 2009 Lotus Exige is in a league of its own. Lightweight, powerful, agile and extremely quick, the Exige allows for blistering driving in nearly any condition.

What's new for 2009?

The basic Exige S and the exclusive Club Racer have been dropped from the line-up for 2009, which now consists of just two models: the Exige S240 and the new Exige S260. The S240 continues on unchanged from 2008, while the S260 features the same supercharged 1.8-liter inline four offered in the S 240, but tuned to put out 257 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.

Model Strengths

  • Ultimate track toy
  • razor-sharp handling and balance
  • lightweight
  • fuel economy.

Model Review

The 2009 Lotus Exige takes the popular Elise to another level, stripping the minimalist car down to its most basic performance-oriented essentials. The result is a nimble road and track weapon that can easily out-perform cars with two, three and even four times the power.

Original Warranty  help
Original Warranty
An original warranty is the warranty associated with a vehicle when it is brand new. In addition to the original warranty, select items, like tires, are typically covered by respective manufacturers. Also, an act of Federal law sometimes provides protection for certain components, like emissions equipment.
The original warranty is often broken down into multiple sections, including:
Basic Warranty:
Typically covers everything except for parts that wear out through normal use of the vehicle. Examples of non-covered items are brake pads, wiper blades and filters.
Drivetrain Warranty:
This warranty covers items the basic warranty does not protect. Wear and tear items such as hoses will not be covered, but key items like the engine, transmission, drive axles and driveshaft often will be.
Roadside Assistance:
The level of service differs greatly with this warranty, but many manufacturers offer a toll-free number that helps provide assistance in case you run out of gas, get a flat tire or lock your keys in the car.
Corrosion Warranty:
This warranty focuses on protecting you from holes caused by rust or corrosion in your vehicle's sheet metal.
Please check the owner's manual, visit a local dealership or look at the manufacturer's website to learn more about the specifics of the warranties that apply to a vehicle.
