Unchanged for 2009, the Maybach 62 ultra-luxury sedan is longer and has more interior volume than the 57 model, making it more suitable as a chauffeur-driven car. The rear-wheel-drive Maybach 62 standard features highlight a 5.5L V12 engine that pumps out 543 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, paired to a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, and can achieve 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds, while top speed is 155 mph. Opportunities bound to customize the Maybach 62 with optional features, such as three-across rear seating, a glass partition and intercom and specific paint colors and interior trim. Also notable is the optional Business Package, which converts the sedan into an executive suite on wheels, including a dual-port wireless Internet router, Bluetooth capability and a multipurpose rear storage area. Since the Maybach 62 is intended to have a chauffeur up front, special attention has been take to provide exquisite ride quality. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 10 mpg city/16 mpg hwy. Standard safety equipment complements the car's superior features.
When you're talking about a Maybach, you're not really talking about value. With models starting at $350,750, these cars are about luxury. The base 57 and 62 have V12 5.5L twin-turbo engines that can be upgraded to a 6.0L twin-turbo in the S models. Either way, the chauffeur can pilot a Maybach from 0-60 in less than 6 seconds. Fuel economy is 11 mpg city, 16 mpg highway. Folding tables and fabric window curtains are the kinds of standard equipment a Maybach owner can expect for his or her money.
There aren't many changes in the Maybach sedan (or saloon, as they call it) lineup. The 62 is still a long-wheelbase version of the 57, and there are still sportier S versions of each model. Two champagne flutes still come standard, as does a rear refrigerator.
There are four models of Maybach, two short-wheelbase and two long-wheelbase that serve as the starting point for a customer's order. All Maybachs are built to the buyer's specifications, and the options and customizations are seemingly endless.
