The 2010 Maybach 57 is a RWD full-size luxury sedan powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 543 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Transmission options are limited to a 5-speed automatic. Fuel mileage for the 57 is an EPA estimated 9 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. Features include bi-xenon headlamps, AIRMATIC dual control suspension, sensotronic brake control, modular roof system, parktronic park assist, keyless go, four-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, high grade fabric window curtains, 6-disc CD changer, navigation, rear refrigerator, champagne flutes, rear Bluetooth system, trunk-mounted umbrella, electronic rear door closers, retractable 4-way adjustable tables, electric sliding curtains, active ventilated seats, 19-inch wheels, and an External Communicator that with the help of a microphone system enables the driver to communicate to the outside world without lowering the windows. The Maybach 57 is backed by a 4-year/unlimited-mile warranty.
When it comes to Maybach, value rarely comes into the equation. With models starting at $358,000, these cars are about luxury. The base 57 and 62 feature V12 5.5L twin-turbo engines that can be upgraded to a 6.0L twin-turbo in the S models. Either way, the chauffeur can pilot a Maybach from 0-60 in less than 6 seconds. Fuel economy is 11 mpg city, 16 mpg highway. Folding tables and fabric window curtains are the kinds of standard equipment a Maybach owner can expect for his or her money.
For 2010, there aren't many changes in the Maybach sedan (or saloon, as they call it) lineup. The 62 is still a long-wheelbase version of the 57, and there are still sportier S versions of each model. Two champagne flutes still come standard, as does a rear refrigerator. This year sees larger side mirrors fitted to all models, and Bluetooth connectivity is now available for rear seat passengers. A new Zeppelin model is also available on both the 57S and 62S, which increases power output to 631 horsepower and 739 pound-feet of torque, and adds 2-tone paint, special badges and 20-inch wheels. Also available is a 62S Landaulet, which features a retractable top over the rear seat area.
There are four models of Maybach, two short-wheelbase and two long-wheelbase that serve as the starting point for a customer's order. All Maybachs are built to the buyer's specifications, and the options and customizations are seemingly endless.
