The standard five-speed transmission connected to a 2.4L 158 hp four-cylinder engine pushes the boxy 2010 Scion xB around town efficiently. All five passengers can enjoy the standard 160 watt Pioneer audio system which offers USB connectivity for your MP3 player. The 2010 Scion xB standard features also include remote keyless entry, power windows, door, and mirrors, and traction control.
First introduced in 2003, The Scion xB is a 5-door wagon with a one-piece rear liftgate. Its top competitors are the Honda Element and the Chevy HHR. The 2010 Scion xB is a good choice for urban drivers who require convenience, maneuverability, affordability and fuel efficiency. Although compact, the Scion xB has plenty of cargo space and a back seat comfortable enough for three adults. Like other Scions, the xB comes well-equipped. No factory options are available (other than automatic transmission), yet there are numerous dealer-installed accessories available for customization. MSRP starts at under $16,000. Mileage averages 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
The boxy yet distinctive 2010 Scion xB is little changed from 2009, other than a new optional audio system that features a touch screen, HD radio, USB and auxiliary audio inputs. Sizzling Crimson Mica is a new exterior color, replacing Blackberry Crush Metallic.
The 2010 Scion xB comes in one trim. Each xB sports a standard 2.4L inline-4 gasoline engine with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). The same engine is in the Scion tC and Toyota Camry, coming with 158 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. All trims are available with either a standard 5-speed manual or an optional 4-speed automatic transmission. All trims are front-wheel drive.
