Subaru, long known for standard all-wheel drive in all models, has revamped many vehicles in its 2010 lineup, adding performance and style upgrades that extend their value beyond their tradition of safety and dependability. Its main competitors are the Mazda6 and the Honda Accord. MSRP starts at just under $20,000. Estimated mileage performance across all trims is 18 city / 25 highway.
The Subaru Legacy has been completely redesigned for 2010, now offering eight trims and three new powertrains. All Legacies are built on an all-new platform with a longer wheelbase and increased width. The exterior design is considered to be bolder, featuring a more upright grille, more-pronounced Subaru badging and hawk-eye headlamps. Character lines arc from the grille and form power bulges on the hood, tapering off into the A-pillar.
For 2010, the Subaru Legacy is available as a 2.5i in Premium and Limited trims, 2.5GT in Premium and Limited trims as well as 3.6R in both Premium or Limited trims. Three engines are available. The 2.5i trim comes with a 2.5L 4-cylinder horizontally opposed boxer engine that makes 170 horsepower and 170 foot-pounds of torque. The 2.5GT comes with a 2.5L turbo-intercooled DOHC 4-cylinder boxer engine making 265 horsepower and 258 foot-pounds of torque. The 3.6R gets a 3.6L V6 boxer DOHC engine capable of 256 horsepower and 247 foot-pounds of torque.
