Outfitted with a serious of upgrades over the A4 sedan, the 2011 Audi S4 most prominently features a 333-horsepower supercharged 3-liter V-6 powerplant. Accenting the sports creditability of the vehicle, the 2011 Audi S4 features a specially calibrated suspension, S quad exhaust pipes and xenon headlamps joined with front fog lamps. Inside where exclusive S4 sport seat and aluminum doorsills welcome one of 5 passengers, other interior features include a glass sunroof as well as three-zone automatic climate control. Coming in base trim as the Premium Plus model, a 2011 Audi S4 in Prestige trim adds auto-dimming exterior mirrors, 19-inch wheels and a Bang & Olufsen sound system alongside Audi's MMI Navigation Plus. The Audi S4 sedan's supercharged V-6 engine can be match with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. All 2011 Audi S4 models are fitted with quattro all-wheel drive technology including electronically-locking front and rear differentials.
With its 2009 redesign, Audi upped the luxury performance-car ante with the A4. Its fresh face and benchmark interior distinguished it from its Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series competitors, while its new dimensions made it the largest car in its class. Technological refinements for 2011 include an impressive 8-speed automatic transmission, and with the sure-footedness of Audi's world-class quattro all-wheel-drive system, a powerful engine, the availability of a wagon and the always-addictive performance of the S4 model, the lineup has a little something for everyone.
High-tech changes make their way into the Audi A4 for 2011. Among them is the introduction of a new 8-speed automatic transmission in the turbocharged 2.0-liter A4 quattro sedan and wagon, replacing the old 6-speed. Audi claims the new, compact gearbox is smoother and returns improved fuel economy.
The A4 is available as a 4-door sedan or as a 5-door station wagon, dubbed the Avant. Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which delivers 211 horsepower and 258 ft-lb of torque. A new 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission are available on quattro models, while front-drive models receive a continuously variable transmission (CVT) as standard equipment. Audi claims the new compact 8-speed is smoother and more precise than the outgoing 6-speed auto while returning better fuel economy.
