What's new for 2011?

The redesign of the 2011 X3 is a fresh new look and brings the X3 into line with the rest of BMW's vehicles. North America doesn't get the all-new diesel engine -- yet -- but the 3-liter gasoline engine is available with a turbocharger. A new 5-link rear axle system improves the X3's ride, while BMW's evolving iDrive system has finally become intuitive to use.

Model Review

There are two versions of the X3, the 240-hp xDrive28i and the turbocharged, 300-hp xDrive35i. Both feature all-wheel drive, start-stop technology, hill descent control and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The new 5-link rear axle gives the X3 a much smoother ride than previously, and its new shape creates more cargo space.
