Adding Twilight Blue and Summit White to the exterior color range, the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox still relishes in a recent redesign. Coming in LS, LT and LTZ trims, standard equipment in common with all 2011 Equinox models include remote keyless entry, XM satellite radio and four 12-volt power outlets. For 2011, standard OnStar includes Directions and Connections with a six-month free trial period. 17-inch wheels, luggage side rails and a USB port are added on the Chevrolet Equinox LT while extensive chrome trim accents are found on the LTZ models. Standard power on the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox is sourced by a 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine worth 182 horsepower. Optional with the LT and LTZ Chevrolet Equinox, a direct-injected 3-liter powerplant is found on this crossover vehicle. A 264 horsepower engine, the 2011 Equinox's larger 3-liter engine now includes E85 compatibility. Both engine configurations come with a 6-speed automatic transmission which combines with a 2.4 liter engine to provide an average 26 miles per gallon in front-wheel drive. Optional all-wheel drive is also obtainable with the 2011 Equinox.
Starting at under $23,000, the 2011 Chevy Equinox is one of the most affordable crossover vehicles in its class, which includes the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. The interior features a dual-cockpit design, ice-blue ambient lighting and sophisticated, classy appearance touches that makes it look much more expensive than it is.
Following a thorough redesign in 2010, the Chevrolet Equinox hits 2011 with no real changes, though the V6 is now a FlexFuel-capable.
The 2011 Chevrolet Equinox is an exciting contender in the mid-size crossover segment. It has the same platform as the GMC Terrain and shares a general aesthetic with both the Chevy Traverse and the latest Malibu. The Equinox's rocker panels are integrated into the doors, narrowing the area over which a passenger must step. The body is stiffened with single-piece side stampings plus high-strength steel in critical areas.
