Sold in LS and LT trim levels, the 2011 Chevrolet HHR is a versatile yet fuel efficient utility wagon. Powered by a variety of Ecotec four-cylinder engines, a 155 horsepower 2.2 liter standard on the 2011 HHR LS can be upgraded to an available 2.4 liter unit producing 172 horsepower. There is a choice of two transmissions, fuel economy is an average 27 miles per gallon with a 5-speed manual or a 26 miles per gallon with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Cruise control, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry as well as dual auxiliary electrical outlets are standard convenience items on the 2011 Chevrolet HHR LS trim. The LT model adds 16-inch wheels and carpeted floor mats. The 2011 Chevrolet HHR can also be ordered in a panel van version featuring a flat, rear area providing 57 cubic feet of cargo space. An optional under-floor storage compartment can be added to the 2011 HHR Panel version. All 2011 HHR models includes one-year of OnStar Safe and Sound plan plus XM Satellite Radio. For 2011, the Chevrolet HHR reflect the same trustworthiness and handling capability.
HHR stands for 'Heritage High Roof,' and it is the high roof that provides ample interior headroom and generous cargo volume. Combined with a highly configurable interior, including removable rear seats, the HHR is a versatile passenger and cargo hauler. Captain-style seating allows good visibility and SUV appeal.
For 2011, the HHR sees few changes. The SS turbocharged model is discontinued, as is the LT panel model. Black, Aqua Blue, and several accent stripes are no longer available, as are Cashmere cloth interior trim and Cashmere leather interior trim. Black Granite Metallic is a new extra-cost color and Mocha Steel Metallic is also now available.
Chevrolet's HHR debuted in 2006 to much enthusiasm, selling over 100,000 units in its first year. The attention-grabbing style continues in 2011, featuring a big chrome grille and a long, smoothly curved hood reminiscent of Chevy's 1949 Suburban. The rear tailgate is framed by two small, round taillights, making the HHR one of the most unique looking vehicle in Chevrolet's lineup.
