Offered in SE, R/T and the newly-revised SRT8 392 trim level, the 2011 Dodge Challenger provides a sensational rear-wheel drive experience. Leather-wrapped steering wheel, 8-way power driver's seat, air conditioning with rear seat vent controls and cruise control is standard equipment on all 2011 Dodge Challengers. Automatic climate control, side airbags and 18-inch aluminum wheels are newly-added no charge items. Addressing the wishes of many budget-minded performance enthusiasts who were displeased with 2010's six-cylinder engine, the 2011 Dodge Challenger SE trim models now includes the 3.6 liter Pentastar V-6 powerplant. Pumping out an impressive 305 horsepower, the 3.6 liter Pentastar engine (fitted to a five-speed automatic transmission) also allows the 2011 Challenger to be E85 compatible. On the Dodge Challenger R/T, the power of a 5.7 liter HEMI returns in 2011 producing 372 horsepower when mated with a 5-speed automatic transmission or 376 horsepower running through an optional 6-speed manual and Track Pak. Limited to only 1,492 examples for 2011, a new Challenger SRT8 392 featuring an larger HEMI V-8 engine cranks out 470 horsepower and 470 pounds-feet of torque wearing one of two race-bred exterior color schemes.

The Challenger remains offered in three different primary trims--Base, R/T and SRT8--that correspond to different engines, while a number of packages can help give the Challenger quite a range of possible styles and driving characteristics. The base model comes with a new-for-2011 305-horsepower, 3.6L V6 engine and 5-speed automatic transmission. For those who must have a V8, the Challenger R/T is the entry model, offering a 379-hp, 5.7L 'Hemi' V8 and either a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. At the top of the range is the SRT8, featuring a 475-hp, 6.4L version of the Hemi.
