Offering two trim level choices of either a GLS or SE, the 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring offers a classy, small family wagon with a sensible list price. Standard on the 2011 Elantra Touring GLS, air conditioning, tilt steering, anti-lock braking and electronic stability control are included. An optional Power Equipment Package on the 2011 Elantra Touring GLS model provides, among other features, 8-way power seating and stylish silver roof rails. Opting for the more lavish SE model, leather seating will be found for the first time on the 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring. Supplying 138 horsepower, Hyundai's 2-liter 4-cylinder powerplant is formidable when paired with a 5-speed manual or an optional 4-automatic gearbox. While combined city and highway fuel economy is 26 miles per gallon when the 2011 Elantra Touring is partnered with either transmission, pure highway mileage is a single mile shorter with the automatic. All Hyundai Elantra Touring wagons in 2011 will include EZ Lane Change Assist which automatically warns other drivers of a lane change.
Hyundai says that the Elantra Touring wagon also has more interior volume than any 5-door in its class. Ride quality and refinement are surprisingly good for the class. The Elantra Touring features 24 cubic feet of cargo space and a very efficient 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that allows the wagon to get 31 mpg on the highway and 23 mpg in the city. Standard equipment includes heated mirrors, an iPod-integrated stereo, remote keyless entry, air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, stability control and a host of air bags.
The Elantra Touring wagon carries over into 2011 with almost no changes. The SE trim gets leather seating and two new colors are now available: Shimmering Silver and Regatta Blue Pearl.
The Elantra Touring is similar to, but fundamentally unique from, the Elantra sedan. Both feature a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, strut-type front suspension with a multi-link rear suspension, but the Touring features a 24 cubic-foot cargo area, expandable to more than 65 cubic feet with the seats folded to accommodate cumbersome cargo.
