Both engines are paired to a 6-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission and in EcoBoost spec, the MKS delivers 17/25 mpg city/hwy. Optional 20 inch wheels, adaptive HID headlamps, and active park assist complement Bridge of Weir leather, Ford Sync, THX audio, side curtain airbags, collision warning with brake support, and stability control. The MKS is a strong entry in the full-size luxury sedan segment with its innovative new engine, numerous technology, comfort, and safety features competing with Lexus GS 350 and Infiniti M35.
The LINCOLN MKS is a full-sized sedan and utilizes a platform shared with the Ford Taurus, with a very roomy interior and tons of technology that is new for Lincoln, such as keyless entry and adaptive cruise control, items usually found on much higher-priced luxury sedans. The EcoBoost engine improves both performance--by 75 hp--and fuel economy, with an EPA-estimated 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.
For 2011, Lincoln's LINCOLN MKS continues mostly unchanged. The available voice-activated navigation system is now paired with HD Radio, and Ford's MyKey system is also now available. In addition, a new Pull-Drift Compensation system monitors steering input and helps to compensate by automatically adjusting for both high winds and uneven road surfaces.
Three variants of the LINCOLN MKS are available for 2011: the 3.7-liter V6 with front-wheel or all-wheel drive and the 3.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine with all-wheel drive only. The smaller engine produces 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, as compared to 273 hp and 270 ft-lbs of torque from the normally aspirated 3.7L. All models get a 6-speed automatic transmission that can be upgraded to use steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
