Debuting 2010, the Lincoln MKT represents a sensible premium 7-passenger crossover choice over the larger truck-based sport utility vehicle. Standard on the Lincoln MKT is Adaptive HID headlamps, Easy Fuel capless gasoline filler, rear-view camera and voice-activated Lincoln SYNC technology. Providing heightened comfort, the MKT Elite Package includes THX II 5.1 speaker system, voice-activated navigation and a multiple panel Vista Roof. For 2011, the Lincoln MKT Elite Package adds HD Radio and PowerFold third-row seating. Offered in front-wheel and all-wheel drivetrains, the 2011 Lincoln MKT receives a standard 268 horsepower and 267 pounds-feet of torque from a 3.7 liter V-6 engine. Generating 355 horsepower, the optional twin-turbocharged 3.5 liter EcoBoost V-6 (available only on the all-wheel drive equipped 2011 Lincoln MKT) performance gains do not result in a loss of overall fuel mileage. All engine power of the 2011 MKT flow through a 6-speed automatic transmission. AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, tire pressure monitoring system and programmable MyKey are standard safety equipment on all 2011 Lincoln MKT.
The 2011 LINCOLN MKT is a full-size luxury crossover vehicle and considered a step-up from the LINCOLN MKX but more attractively priced than the LINCOLN Navigator. It shares the same D4 crossover platform as the Ford Flex. MSRP starts at $44,200. Mileage is estimated at 17 city /23 highway for the front-wheel drive trim, and 16 city / 22 highway for all wheel drive trims.
Introduced last year, there are no changes of note to the 2011 LINCOLN MKT. The grill appears to be a bit more pronounced, and MyLincoln Touch, a new Ford interface technology, should be available in all LINCOLN MKT trims for 2011.
The base engine for the LINCOLN MKT is a 3.7L Duratec V6 engine with 268 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, and is available in either front wheel drive or all-wheel drive. For those who want more performance, there is also a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine that makes 355 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Part of a new family of engines, the EcoBoost V6 has twin turbochargers and direct injection. With either engine, the 2011 LINCOLN MKT comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift, which adds paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The base engine trims come with 19-inch aluminum wheels with performance tires while the EcoBoost engine comes with 20-inch aluminum tires and all wheel drive only.
