The entry-level sedan in the Ford's premium car brand lineup, the 2011 Lincoln MKZ continues to assert itself as an effective introduction to the pleasures of American luxury. Featuring prominent 18-inch polished aluminum wheels, the Lincoln MKZ suspension is specially tuned for aggression. Every 2011 Lincoln MKZ includes standard Lincoln SYNC, power windows, reverse-sensing system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 9-speaker, 360-watt sound system. A 14-speaker THX II 5.1 surround sound and a Sirius-guided navigation unit are optional on the 2011 Lincoln MKZ sedan. Available as either front-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations, the 2011 MKZ models are powered through a 3.5 liter V-6 engine. Producing 263 horsepower, this engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission for average fuel economy of over 22 miles per gallon with front-wheel drive or over 20 miles per gallon fitted to all-wheel drive. Combining a 2.5 liter Atkinson cycle inline-4 engine to a 275-volt electric motor for 191 horsepower altogether, the 2011 Lincoln MKZ hybrid is projected to deliver 41 miles per gallon city or 36 miles per gallon through highway driving.

The overall crash test rating is based on how a vehicle performs in the following tests: Driver Crash Grade: Measures the chance of a serious injury to a crash test dummy that is placed in a driver's seat and driven into a fixed barrier at 35 MPH. A five-star rating means there is 10 percent or less chance of injury. Passenger Crash Grade: Similar to the driver crash grade, only now the focus is on the passenger. Rollover Resistance: Simulates an emergency lane change to measure the likelihood of a vehicle rolling over. A five-star rating means there is 10 percent or less risk of rollover. Side Impact Crash Test - Front: Focuses on the front side of a vehicle. It simulates crashes that can occur in intersections by striking a 3,015-pound weight against the side of a vehicle at 38.5 MPH. A five-star rating means there is 5 percent or less chance of injury.
