Fresh from its minor tweaks in 2010, the 2011 Scion xB continues its boxy, fun, and affordable style. The xB can be as practical or custom as you desire with only a visit to the nearest Toyota parts counter. The compact 5-door wagon can seat 5 passengers and is powered by a standard 2.4-liter 158 hp 4-cylinder teamed with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. EPA estimated economy is 22/28 mpg city/hwy. With its low entry price and endless customization options, the Scion compares well with newcomers Nissan Cube and Kia Soul.
First introduced in 2003, the Scion xB is a 5-door wagon with a one-piece rear liftgate. Its top competitors are the Honda Element and the Chevy HHR. The 2011 Scion xB is a good choice for urban drivers who require convenience, maneuverability, affordability and fuel efficiency. Although compact, the Scion xB has plenty of cargo space and a back seat comfortable enough for three adults. Like other Scions, the xB comes well-equipped. No factory options are available other than an automatic transmission, yet there are numerous dealer-installed accessories available for customization.
For 2011, the boxy yet distinctive Scion xB receives no significant changes.
The 2011 Scion xB comes in one trim. Each xB sports a 2.4L 4-cylinder gasoline engine standard that utilizes Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). The same engine is found in the Scion tC and Toyota Camry, coming with 158 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque on tap. All xBs are front-wheel drive and available with either a standard 5-speed manual or an optional 4-speed automatic transmission.
